Are bioidentical hormones safe?
It has been deduced in recent years that bioidentical hormones have become more and more safe for use, since they are now being manufactured using natural sources and are fully compatible with women’s hormones. However, it must be kept in mind that there are a few drawbacks that may be associated with taking too many hormones.
Remember that too many hormones may also encourage cancer growth, which itself is great risk to health. It is always better to balance other systems of a woman’s body first and to then consider adding small amounts of hormones each time to prevent the body from triggering cancer cell formation.
According to a study, women who stopped taking hormone replacement therapy prematurely in fear of breast cancer, had also developed special disorders, such as eating problems, low sex drive, sleeping problems, mood swings, bloating, fatigue and weight gain. The condition seemed to have worsened, until the introduction of bioidentical hormones, which had offered much less of a risk as well as a way to restart their normal way of living, since they were made of much more natural ingredients, rather than horse urine, and performed as well (and more) as the previous hormones.
Like the previous versions of hormones, bioidentical hormones may promote cancer cell growth, but they also help many other processes. Bioidentical hormones are basically rich in estrogen. Estrogen promotes all your systems to work at full capacity. This involves decrease in appetite, healthy skin with no wrinkles, prevention of heart disease and even greater sex drive, which is a miracle for women who are now getting older and may want to feel young again. It may also promote cancer growth as a side effect, but the probability is small, and the benefits are in great number.
There may be a way to take bioidentical hormones and not increase the risk of cancer. As the body is mainly controlled by the 5 systems; nervous, hormonal, digestive, reproduction and elimination- having good control on these may help in preventing greater risk. Although all these systems may work in different ways, they are all linked with one another and if one may not be working correctly, then all of the systems would be affected alike.
Taking bioidentical hormones in small amounts may not be enough to reduce the risk of cancer, since it is not only estrogen or progesterone that may cause cancer cell growth. One may also have to balance other systems of the body such as the nervous system, which itself consists of various components such as neurotransmitters, hormone regulating glands, metabolisms, digestion, blood sugar and adrenals. Once these are in order, you can then move towards the ovary, where you may attempt to regulate the estrogen and progesterone levels. It must be understood that all these systems need to be in good shape in order to lower the hormone levels within the body.
There are some conditions that need to be met in order to consider the bioidentical hormones as a safe alternative to the conventional hormone replacement therapy. The systems need to be in balance, as then the body will need much less amount of hormones, and so the bioidentical hormones would be regarded as safe, since there is only a minute amount that needs to be taken, which does not trigger cancer cell growth. Taking a Thermography will help you determine how your body is functioning and can determine if you need an extra hormone replacement therapy
